Subject: CUTA ELECTION RESULT
Dear friends
We are passing through an unprecedented pressing time, though historic in nature. It is not possible to hold the Annual General Meeting 2020 this year within March 31 as per our Constitution. According to CUTA constitution the Election Results are to be declared in AGM, with the new Executive Committee taking charge from the old one. As Returning Officer of the Election I was supposed to declare the results in AGM. All our “supposed to” s are stalled in the entire world now. So I am declaring the result in e-mail platform today, before March 31. We will be all meeting in person in an AGM when we can.
I congratulate the new Executive Committee and request the new Committee to take charge from April 1, 2020. As there was no other contestants in all the posts, the Final List of Candidates is declared elected. I congratulate our new General Secretary Prof. Sankhayan Chowdhury and new President Prof. Parthib Basu and the team.
It had been a really good experience officiating as President in the earlier term. I will continue to cherish the camaraderie of General Secretary, and the whole team along with you all in confronting challenges and united struggle of all teachers of our University. With these words I have to say Good Bye to you from the position of President, CUTA but promise to continue with you in the journey of teacher’s struggle. The times are demanding more of interventions from associations like us.
